Oh, Joanna, a thousand thank yous for the wonderful night! My idea of a rich life is being able to drive 7 1/2 hours to attend the event and meet you in person. You and this entire community are so warm, inviting, non-judgmental, fun, thoughtful, encouraging, loving...I could go on :) A balm for my introverted soul and I am still so stinkin' excited that I was there (and so glad that Nora got to use my extra ticket when my daughter could not attend with me).
i wanted to share the original quote that one of the attendees referenced but didn't get *quite* right. also worth mentioning that it's not originally penned by someone in the comments, but from the (now defunct) twitter account @petfurniture, who is truly a poet and whose prose i miss. even after i left twitter, i would continue to check their account daily, not unlike how i continue to check CoJ daily!

You had desserts from Lula Cafe at your event. You should put this restaurant on your list of places to eat. It’s our favorite and also where chefs often eat. The food is creative as well as delicious. Right on Logan Sq.
I’ve been using Jojoba oil since reading Jessica’s recommendation and I am HOOKED! Changed the whole game for my scalp health with one use. I’m obsessed and now I also use it all over!
Once a week I oil my scalp with the jojoba and let it sit for like 20-60 minutes (depending on how distracted I get!) before showering it off! I shampoo twice. It’s saved my itchy, dry scalp!! For hair loss I’ve heard rosemary oil is very good as well! ♥️♥️
