In two weeks, I will have been with my hubster for 35 years. It's been wonderful and there's a satisfying level of comfort that develops over that kind of time, but I will concur with Odette that there's nothing as heady as new love. I remember each time I've fallen in love and have walked a few inches off the ground. I wish it could be bottled up because it's the greatest happy drug ever.

Yes, they need to bottle that, and invent a back tickle machine.

I love everything about the sweetness of this midnight pasta for J&E, including its inspiration (Nora Ephron). Thank you for sharing it.

What a kind and generous gift. And oh yes - the headiness of new love: it's one of the best things there is in this life! Bon appetit, Jo and Freddie!

Oh gosh, have you seen the movie Chef with Jon Favreau? The pasta he makes Scarlett Johansson after their own midnight activities...Odette, your descriptions remind me so much of that scene!

Something cinematic about pasta and falling in love.

This is delightful and reminds me (ten years deep into a marriage I’d choose again!) that it’s fun to do indulgent things for each other just because. I devoured Heartburn (the book) on a short flight today so I think this timing is inspired and I have to make this!

Have a listen to the audiobook of Meryl Streep reading Heartburn. It is so, so, good!

This looks wonderful I'm traveling to Texas for a family wedding and I think I might make this at the vacation house.

What a sweet idea, and also this pasta looks amazing! Although, I was sadly never a prosciutto fan... until I recently discovered that you can sauté it in a pan until it gets crispy and the flavor intensifies. So that's my plan... Can't wait to try. (Also, I LOVE, love, love all those NYC romantic movies. Great choices. ♥️)

Yes!! I love frying sheets of prosciutto too! So good on a summer pasta with cherry tomatoes, dollop of ricotta and Parm! Heaven!

Why is this the hottest thing ever written?? If there’s something better than the combination of new love and pasta, I definitely haven’t found it…
